Happy Monday!! I hope you all had an amazing weekend. I'm not a football fan (surprise, surprise) so to me the biggest event of the weekend was Kylie Jenner announcing the birth of her baby. If you haven't seen the video she had produced for her daughter, you have to go watch it! Much of my weekend was spent doing chores like unpacking from our trip last week and deep cleaning the apartment. Jared and I did manage to get out and spend some time together before we did our own things on Sunday. We went to Momiji (our new favorite sushi spot in the neighborhood) and watched the movie 12 Strong afterwards. Then on Sunday I met up with my friend Jenn for brunch at Super Six, a yummy spot in Columbia City. I highly recommend the eggs benedict but Jenn's chicken and bubble waffle looked amazing too! I have so much to share with you guys from our California trip last week but since my last blog post was about our Hawaii trip, I wanted to break it up a bit. If you're new around here then you can expect a monthly roundup of some of my favorite things around the end of the month or beginning of the next month. I talk about anything and everything - once I even wrote about cauliflower. … [Read more...]
5 November Favorites
Being the indecisive person that I am, gift giving is actually such a difficult task for me. Instead of struggling through that feat, I decided to share some of my November favorites. In a way, any of my monthly favorites posts could work as gift recommendations right?? So although I'm a few days late, I thought I would share some of my favorites from November. Those of you who have been following along know I've had so many life changes recently. Thank you for bearing with me! Crazy Rich Asians I finally finished this book!! I bought the book over a year ago and most recently brought it on my trips to Hawaii and Vegas. Those of you whose families are Cantonese/Chinese/Singaporean will love this even more for all of the cultural references. Once I got to the meat of the drama, I couldn't put it down even though I was exhausted beyond belief. You know a book's good when you forgo a 3 hour … [Read more...]
September 2017 Favorites
September was weird. There were a plethora of natural (and manmade) disasters around the world, an endless amount of political drama, and even odd weather in Seattle. It went from summer to winter to fall all within two weeks! Throw in some other frustrations I can't write about and it was just a lot. Though September lacked in some areas, it redeemed itself by presenting lots of opportunities to be in good company. No longer being in college and living in the same city as all my friends does present a challenge when making plans. Somehow this month the stars aligned a lot and I had a full calendar! My heart is so full from all the brunch dates, old friend reunions, and more. Life this month was more about experiences and I certainly feel rich from them! I never put myself on official spending bans however I'm pretty conscious about what I consume. As a blogger who works with companies who gift me product sometimes, it can feel backwards to accept things when I am trying to declutter my things at the same time. I deal with this contradiction frequently! Writing these favorites posts at the end of every month actually helps me realize what I really love and want to keep. It makes … [Read more...]
