#InfiniteKusama by Yayoi Kusama is arguably the most exciting thing to see in Seattle this summer. Evidently others would agree as the advance tickets sold out super fast. Don't worry though! Day of tickets are still available. (More information here.) I know I have quite a few readers in the Vancouver/Portland area so if you're contemplating a visit to Seattle, you should definitely plan a visit before September 10th. Keep reading for some photos from my visit, tips, and what to expect at the exhibit. A million thank you's to Rachel from SAM for providing Jared and I with tickets! What to Expect There will be lines but don't be intimidated by them. The staff does a great job to move the lines quickly. The SAM entrance is very large so while you may be waiting in a line to purchase tickets, you'll probably be indoors. Head to the fourth floor and you'll wait in one of two lines for the time slot that your tickets are for. Members should have their IDs ready as the staff will check them, otherwise just have your ticket ready to be scanned upon entry. There isn't a set path you have to follow through the exhibit. However it's laid out in a way that there is somewhat of a natural … [Read more...]
Life Lately: VIP Baseball Experience with the Tacoma Rainiers
Happy Tuesday! (And happy 16th birthday to my brother, Chris!!) Hope you all had a good weekend! I visited my family again this weekend and it was so good to hang out with them again. We spent all of Saturday looking at cars for my mom but I can't complain. They had some swanky lounges with treats and powerful air conditioning. What more could you ask for? :) The rest of my trip was spent eating per usual, so that was fun. If you caught my recent Portland food guide post, I have an addition. Duck House Chinese Restaurant is a must try if you like soup dumplings or beef pancake rolls. Okay, onto the main point of this post! If you saw my Instagram stories of our visit to Cheney Stadium, then this is the blog post I promised. As a foodie, of course I had to report on what we ate. Also I was just thoroughly impressed by the stadium and the entire experience. We were treated so well that now I don't think I can attend a better baseball game! For someone who isn't really into sports, I have been to my fair share of baseball games at Safeco Field. I've even been on a tour of Fenway Park in Boston! After two tragic incidents with my last two iPhones at baseball games (long story) … [Read more...]
Volunteer Park Conservatory – Seattle, WA
Volunteer Park Conservatory is one of my favorite spots in the heart of Seattle. The first time I really took the time to wander the Conservatory was with my friend Deker. Going anywhere with a photographer means you'll go at a slower pace. For that, I am grateful. (P.S. Miss you, Deker!) You learn to appreciate all the little details that you may have missed otherwise. Volunteer Park Conservatory is definitely a small space, but if you take the time to look, there is actually a lot to see inside. I've been excited to show Jared the Conservatory since he moved to Seattle a YEAR ago! We happened to be in the neighborhood after brunch and made our way over finally. Luckily the first Thursday/Saturday of each month is free admission into the Conservatory. Miraculously, it was also fairly empty! (A photographer or blogger's dream, basically.) Denim Jacket | Sandals (Only $16 and super comfy) | Necklace | Cupcake bracelet See the widget at the bottom of the post for similar outfit details for the whole outfit! My favorite room in the conservatory is the cacti and succulents room. You have to drive a ways to get to real desert around here, so this is a really fun escape in … [Read more...]
