Happy Monday! Did you guys have a good weekend?
I had somewhat of a different weekend than what I’m used to because I spent a lot of it on my own. (Jared flew to Copenhagen for work on Friday.) The week prior was a very long one for me and I felt drained by Friday night. That was a pretty clear sign to me to take a step back and just do all the self care things that I had put on the back burner. Spending some time by myself is a rarity these days and I forgot how much I need this for my sanity. I slept in, got a massage, did my nails and some masks, and a bunch of other things that are good for the soul. I already miss the weekend :)
Alright now onto some of my favorite things from February:
STYLE
Jumpsuit – I didn’t want to wear a dress to Jared’s belated holiday party because #coldaf so I got a jumpsuit for the occasion. I originally tried on tons of stuff at Nordstrom that was super expensive and just not quite right, so imagine my surprise when I found this gem at Forever 21!! It was only $20 so I figured if I only wore it once or twice I already got my moneys worth. Earlier this month, I got invited to a Jet Blue event so I pulled this out again and it was such a hit! So many people on Instagram asked me about it but unfortunately by now all the black ones have sold out. You can still snag it in an olive color! I wore a cami underneath because the neckline is slightly deep on me. A cute lace tank or turtleneck like in the stock photo would be cute too! Other jumpsuits below:
The shoes I’ve mentioned 100 times – Okay okay I sound like a broken record but these shoes are SO GOOD you guys. And yes, it’s a little cold for them right now but mules are going to be as popular this spring and summer as they were last year and I know these are going to sell out! If you have a wider foot, I would recommend going up a half size. Also, just beware that these can be a little slippery if the ground is slick. I know from personal experience :) I’ve linked some more mules below that I’m loving:
THINGS TO DO
Visiting Vancouver, B.C. with friends – Over the long weekend, I went to Vancouver B.C. with my closest girlfriends. We rented a van (lol) and drove up to stay in the cutest little home that was decorated super cute. I’ll be sharing some other photos from this trip in a later post so stay tuned! I’ve already sent the Airbnb listing to a few people who asked on Instagram so please let me know if you would like it too. Although Vancouver seems really similar to Seattle, I love visiting this city because there are so many fun things to do. The exchange rate is definitely in our favor as well :)
Mat Kearney – I spontaneously went to a Mat Kearney show with my friend, Erica, and now I’ve been listening to him nonstop! I first listened to Mat Kearney almost a decade ago so it was really crazy to hear him in real life. He played some of his new music like Kings and Queens and also introduced me to a new artist, Andrew Belle. Look him up! He’s awesome and is an amazing performer as well.
Shonda Rhimes does it again – I’m a die hard Shonda fan. The lady knows how to write, y’all. I’ve been watching Grey’s Anatomy since the beginning! I caught up on the newest episodes to end the long work week and it reminded me how much I really love this show. The drama sometimes can be a little ridiculous, as with Scandal. I watched a few episodes of Season 6 and wow, I’ve missed a lot!
EATS
Molly Moon’s Chocolate Waffle Cone – This yummy salted chocolate cone from Molly Moon’s was the best dessert I had this month! The cone wasn’t too overpowering but rather a great complement to the ice cream. Also, how good does Jared’s hand look in this photo? He could be a hand model! ;)
Mighty O’s – One more chocolatey dessert from a local Seattle eatery to add! My chiropractor’s office is right next to a Mighty O’s which is super dangerous. To make matters worse, my appointments are always at the end of the day which means I’m usually walking by the shop when it’s happy hour (BOGO free). So….I ended up getting donuts a few times. My favorite is the chocolate glazed donut and I’m not even usually a chocolate fan! I like that Mighty O’s is organic too!
Hope you have the best month, friends! Thanks for reading.
